Assalamalaikum wa rahmatullahe wa barakatuhu everyone-
Alhamdulilah we have some very good news to share. Allah (SWT) is insha-Allah blessing us with another child. The current expected date is set 2nd/3rd week of June.
We are very happy about this, especially since we can now justify the minivan with flame stickers and an “R-type” sticker in the back. The kids will love another companion, and we’re pleased that our extensive collection of car seats will provide more value.
I would be grateful if you could keep us in your duas- duas for our children and for their Islamic character, duas that they may become a source of comfort to us and a sadaqa jaariya. May Allah (SWT) give all our children a character that He loves. Ameen.
I know you may already be asking: Waleed, in all of this, how are you doing? I’m doing great, thanks for asking! And yes, so is Abez. She is a fantastic trooper and thanks Allah (SWT) every day for this blessing.
Jazak Allah Khair,
Waleed

Awww Masha’Allah, congrats!!!! And Ameen to the duas!!
I’ve been reading your blog for a while and I absolutely love it. Look forward to reading it every time I sit down at the computer. Keep writing please!
Congrats again! 😀
ameen to yr du’as, mubarak on the news, and confused/cringing @ flame stickers!
Alf mabrook! 🙂 Masha’allah! 🙂
MASHALLAH! Hope the minivan is going to have the obligatory “baby on board” waving sticker however, to make sure that everyone around you on the crazy Dubai roads knows (or was that only an stupid Australian phenomenon – hope so).
PS why is this a letter from Waleed? Where are you in all this Abez?
Danielle: Well, I had asked HF to do the honor of informing my family, and we sent joint emails, but his was just so unexpectedly funny that I thought it made a much better announcement. 🙂
Baji: Well, as I have reluctantly agreed, if I *must* have a minivan then it *must* be cool. And so it *must* have ghost flames. :p Why *must* we have a minivan? Because between kids + staff, and driver, we’re already five, and I don’t think the next kid wants to ride on the roof.
And JazakAllahuKheiran for the congrats, remember us in your duas!
Mashallah!
mashaAllah mabrook!
ameen to the duas <3
keep writing, i love your blog = )
Alhamdulillah wa mabrook! Such wonderful news, delivered in a unique way. 😀
May Allah bless you and your family and give you an easy healthy pregnancy/delivery/baby- MashaAllah what wonderful news. Thanks iMuslim for the heads up 🙂
I refuse to drive a van, regretting it four kids later but shhhh don’t tell my husband 😉
JazakAllahuKheiran everyone! 🙂
Heartening news, Abez!
May Allah make this phase easy for your whole family and grant you a pious and healthy child with well-being. Ameen.
<3
haha, the car seat thing made me lol!
Salam Abez,
I came across your blog today and have read every post in reverse thus far. I’ve been really inspired by you and your husband’s relationship with your children. May Allah (swt) protect you and your family and reward you for all your hard work and sacrifices.
So, we are also expecting soon iA (our first child). My wife is 12 weeks into it but we haven’t announced it yet. I noticed that you guys announced it only 2 months into the pregnancy for “Stringbean.” The question: Why so early?
Any extra advice you want to give us will also be appreciated! Keep us in your dua’a!
Expecting Father from Maryland (also lived in Dubai and Saudi Arabia…near the Ikea you guys go to all the time, lol!)
P.S: You should start a radio show where people can ask you random questions on parenting, I think it would be really successful.
Walaikum Assalam Brother, JazakAllahuKheiran for the comment. 🙂 And you either read very fast or haven’t noticed that my archives go back almost seven years, lol- but either way, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Why did we announce Stringbean so early? That’s a good question, at the time it felt like an interminably long time to wait before sharing the news! So much of what was (and is!) happening our lives is centered around pregnancy (which you will come to see, InshaAllah 🙂 and not being able to share with family and friends what was going on was torture. See, I’m not very good at mailing my family or calling my friends, so I’m grateful they read my blog. So yes- as soon as we told the respective parents, the pregnancy was public domain, and that enabled me to blog freely, hence, the next post- *And now that the cat’s out of the bag…*
Any advice? Hmm, I wish I could say something sage and impressive :p but the best thing I’ve done in this pregnancy (which I didn’t do for Khalid or Iman’s pregnancies) was the get a pool membership and start swimming 2-3 times a week. The better shape the mother is in, the easier the pregnancy, the easier the delivery, and the quicker the recovery. And also, make lots of dua. 🙂

PS: I don’t know if I’m into advice so much as I am anecdotes, but if you have a question, or you want to get a laugh out of my short people, you’re always welcome here. :p
