Momma’s Dinner Salad

  • One sliced tomato
  • One cucumber, but only half should be put into the salad because Iman will have walked away with the other half
  • One scrambled egg that Khalid didn’t want for breakfast
  • A handful of sunflower seeds, because they’re healthy or something like that
  • A handful of spicy roasted corn, because it’s tasty though definitely not healthy
  • Three sliced mushrooms, which neither of the children are interested in
  • Way too much full-fat ranch dressing
  • A huge dollop of yogurt
  • Oh, and some lettuce.  Somewhere.

Salad is healthy, right?  *nodnodnod*

Yes, because the yogurt helps trick your tongue into thinking that there’s way more salad dressing on there than you put! Salt helps too, really.

You know, they call it roasted corn, but I can’t help but get the feeling that it’s fried? Check it out next time you’re in Carrefour- in the bulk spices & nuts section, they have ‘Roasted Corn’ that tastes like the elder cousin of Cheetos and has a distinctly squeaky feeling on the teeth that is far, far too tasty to be healthy. I’m suspicious of it. But man, it’s good on salad!

i’ll take your word for it!
and yes, i’ve had roasted corn but i usually by it from the little nuts shops – rostery? roastery? i hope you’re wrong – i always thought it was healthy 😛
    also, it’s dec 11th!!!

Haha, I know! But you wouldn’t believe the fight that Khalid is waging against Joy- he thought he had gotten rid of her for good and that no one would make him work ever again! And now we’re having scream-a-thons like we’re back in the first month of therapy. It’ll take a few days for him to accept his fate, and then, we’ll come over and play. 🙂
