Hello everybody, it’s me, Iman! I recently tried out middle school, and I can tell you the awful time period it is, just getting out of elementary school. For all of those adults who JUST CAN’T remember being a sixth grader, I can tell you a thing or two about it.
Number one: Yes folks, I know that you’re probably thinking,” Oh, come on, it wasn’t that bad.” Well actually, it was awful. Middle school is the time to get your label at school, decide who are your true friends, and on top of all that, you’ll worry about if the popular kids will like you and let you join their clique.
Number two: Who to sit with at lunch? That is the hardest thing ever when you’re the new kid. Everybody at lunch seem like game bosses that you either battle or befriend. Actually, now that I think about it, the whole day at school seems like a video game level that you must beat in order to return to your base! Alright, that’s all I can think of – for now.
Salam! I’d love to hear some middle school prep/how to make it easier ideas! I have two girls starting middle school next year. And I have not forgotten how awful middle school was! The good news is high school was way better, and inshallah you’ll feel things getting better soon too.
Walaikum Assalam – give them lots of hugs and tell them it’s ok to have a horrible time. But I hope they don’t and it goes well. 🙂
